The Quiksilver Young Guns 2018 is ON!
The Quiksilver Young Guns 2018 is ON - And you can be part of the competition.
The Quiksilver Young Guns competition is a long standing tradition in the surfing world. It gives groms from all over the planet a chance to show their skills and follow in the footsteps of the likes of Gabriel Medina or Mikey Wright by becoming a Young Guns Surf Champion.
And by voting on Instagra
Surfers aged 13 to 17 years are invited to post their clips of max. 1 minute on Instagram, tagging @quiksilver and #YGSurfContest until June 18th 2018.
There is an extra price of 1000 $ for the most creative entry, so expect some weird, fun and unique videos – and some outstanding progressive surfing, of course.
Pro surfers and former “Young Guns” Kanoa Igarashi and Leonardo Fiovaranti will review all submissions and select 8 finalists based on technique, creativity and flow.
And that´s where you come in! From June 25th to July 2nd, each day one finalist will be presented in instagram stories on @quiksilver and there is a poll feature, so you get to vote for your favorite.
The three highest ranked contestants plus one wild card selected by the judges will then be invited to the final and they are in for a real treat! The final will be held at the Lemoore Surf Ranch this year, so the 4 lucky finalists will get to spend an entire day there with Leo and Kanoa, surfing the world´s best man made wave and competing for a 10.000 $ check and the honor of calling themselves “Young Guns Surf Champion 2018”. The experience will be shared on @quiksilver´s Instagram, so stay tuned for all the action and to find out who will take home the trophy!
